For some reason Thumbsnap is rotating the image through 180 degrees!

It appeared here last year and immediately went on my birthday list. Four months later I find I have the time to make a start on it.

I finished building one of those yesterday. Not a bad build, and it does make a decent ornament. The only really hard part was getting the second chassis/body side to go on. I had to put it down and walk away before I broke something. There are just so many tabs to line up.

I didn't have much luck getting it to move under power though - way too much friction from all the moving parts, despite sanding and waxing everything per the instructions. I'd have preferred to do without the moving valves and pistons, and have some cylinder heads and carbs.

Hook up a power drill to a half-shaft and bed it all in/start a fire?!
