Hello,
are these tin trains of interest to anyone in here?

I don't recognise them to identify but they've clearly seen a few million miles under their wheels! Patina is all the rage these days...the stories they could tell.....I reckon they'd make a great display in a box frame....
please don't bin them!

Do you know any history behind them? Family?

I think there is some family history, I'll find out what it is.

I have no facts to impart but that's the kind of thing that could be worth hundreds. The more examples that people throw away, the rarer and more valuable the rest become...

Showed this thread to my old man - and he’s pretty sure it’s pre-war German made, probably Bing.

I'll try to identify too. I should have a Bing catalogue repro here somewhere...If they have value of course the right action will be taken!

Would that be Bing, as in Bing carburetors ? Their main body is cast aluminium,

was standard fit on german bikes & mopeds for decades ?

Just checked wiki, yes, it is, they produced model trains up to 1932, so yours might be quite antique.

They were found in an attic in 1999 and the present keeper thinks they are Bing.

Collecting them later today.

Will pack well for shipping.

IIRC Bing were the people for tin trains before WW1. They fell out of favour because WW1, leaving a gap Frank Hornby was happy to fill.

That maybe wrong, but I'm sure the story is something like that.
