Here’s the build thread as requested.

I’m not going to write too much about the build thus far, just post the pictures.

Two general comments though.
1. The kit is quite excellent
2. If you don’t like lots of meticulous masking it might not be for you.

Anyway here’s the pictures up to date. If you have any questions let me know.

The disappointment is a lot of the detail won’t be visible on the finished model..

But you know it’s there. I onced kitbashed my dad’s MGB and added the air pipe he put under the bonnet, will never see it, but it is the details that make it.

Fitting the glass was a bit of an arse to be honest.

The clear plastic isn’t glued in place but held with a frame, which is then glued in place.

Lot of test fitting before the buttock clenching final assembly.

I think I got away with it.

More progress.

Moving on to the bodywork.

I used the correct Tamiya rattle can, but it came out with a satin finish so I added a clear coat.

Couldn’t resist a trial fit.

Rear wings in final position

Side repeaters have a small decal.

Door assemblies installed

I didn’t get any pictures of the headlamp assembly, but it was pretty fiddly to be honest. Looks great though.

Starting to look like a car.

Rear light and fans assembly

Last push to get it done

I will post some more pics of the finished model tomorrow as well as my final opinion on the kit.

It looks like Tamiya just keep getting better and, as usual, their kits respond well to an outstanding build skill. Lovely work sir!

Thanks for the comments.

I’m not massively with the panel gap between the front clam and the body, but it is okay I guess.

Question is what next?
