Anyone any experience with these? I'm looking to buy one as a gift for someone who is mechanically minded. There's a bewildering array of resumably Chinese built kits, just want to choose one that goes together nicely. Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received.

It wouldnt be piston heads without a recommendation to build a V8 instead.... Its not a sterling engine but Toyan do a range of miniature engines you assemble yourself. Everything from single cylinder jobbies to supercharged V8's

I did see those, but they are bit out of my price range otherwise I'd be all over one for myself. I was looking about the £75 mark.

I bought one as a present for a (mechanically minded) friend for Christmas a few years ago. It went down very well.

It was one of these: https://stirlingengine.co.uk/products/High-Tempera...
