Model car buying tips

Hi All - considering starting a model car collection, probably 1:43 scale.

Grateful to hear more about which manufacturers to buy from for under £50 per piece, and from which stockists in the U.K.

I’m in the industry and would start collecting 1:64 frankly…

Pop race, mini GT and these manufacturers are on a roll and the models are just getting better and are great value.

For 1/43 Grand Prix Models is a good place to start.

Russy is right though, there’s some amazing stuff coming out of Japan, and Hot Wheels Premium can really surprise!

Are there enough makers of 1:64 at the moment? Isn’t the supply more plentiful when it comes to 1:43?

This thread’s really interesting. I’ve never paid much attention to 1:64 but I had started noticing some cool Hotwheels with better details.

Having had a quick Google I’ve seen some really smart stuff!

Does anyone make any ‘normal’ European cars? I’ve seen a lot of Paganis, Porsches and stuff. But I sometimes like the less fancy stuff

I’d love to see a little summary about quality and price and suppliers in the U.K. from people who know

Start from matchbox/hot wheels (in every supermarket) and go up to Mini GT, they are superb value
