Messerschmitt Me109F - Airfix 1/72
Discussion
A nice, if rather basic, Airfix kit. It's classified as a Quick Build so lacks some detail but I really enjoyed building it. Like the Focke Wulf Ta152 I built a couple of weeks ago, the aim was to get some more practice with applying Luftwaffe mottle camouflage. It appears that the real aeroplane had its mottle applied by a sponge rather than sprayed - so I did the same.
The wing leading edge paint demarcation was a rather odd scallop pattern which I did using blue tack suitable laid in a wavy pattern. The demarcation line is bit high compared to the real aircraft but I decided to leave it as it was a first attempt at this type of pattern.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the result.
