Hi there,

My 16 year old son often heads off on a Sunday to meet up with a few of the other members of the local RC car drift club. I have been promising him for a couple of weeks that I would go along with him and get some shots of the action.

These guys are proper enthusiasts, the cars are superbly prepared, there driving skills are great and the whole thing was really good fun. So much so I fancy a go myself.

The event consists of a couple of practice runs, then some solo rounds which are judged and then a competition where two cars run head to head with the winner progressing to the next round. biggrin

Great way to spend a sunday morning.

Regards

Tim

I realy miss racing RC cars, some Pikey bd stole my 1/10th Electric Touring car and I can't bring myself to spend all the money again.

Those do look very cool though.

Hi there,

Yep, all 1/10 scale electric.

Great fun, and relatively cheap to get in to.

Cool, looks like a few of the D1RC lads.
The detail in some of the drift cars is amazing, proper lights, brake discs, roll cages, and highly detailed vinyls.
I used to get my M3 sideways, I should dig it out again and find some tarmac around here...

Hi there,

There is a clip on You Tube from one of the meetings a few weeks ago. Its only a couple of cars before the main competition but shows the talent of the drivers.

I like it, all you need now is a small smoke machine in the car to give it that realistic effect wink

There are some (expensive) tyres you can buy which produce smoke. Some of them even do different colours and smells.
