Hey Everyone

I want to start collecting F1 models. I have been looking at the Minichamps range which seem to look quite nice.

I ideally wanted to collect all the Mclaren's, so does anyone know if there all available?

Also where can I get a nice wall mounted display cabinet for them?

Cheers

Sammo

Are you majoring on F1/GP cars or other types of cars?

If you are planning on buying off the shelf, ready built cars, your choice in 1/43 will be limited.
If you are brave enough to tackle 1/43 kits, then the choice is almost unlimited.

Check out grandprixmodels.co.uk.

If you are getting into F1 models and more specifically McLaren then you had better start saving now. Current models don't hang around on shop shelves for long as all models are limited editions/limited production runs which normally sell out before they even arrive in the UK.

As for back catalogue models, well this is where you need to save as the second-hand market is unfortunately filled will fools who will pay quite literally £1000's for old models of McLaren cars and due to this, the traders demand high prices, even if the models are not really worth it.

So F1 diecast is probably not the best option if you want to start collecting F1 models as you'll soon become frustrated, unless of course you've recently come into some money and are happy to throw money at your collection.

Do you have a preferred road car marque? I collect Lamborghini models and you are always going to get great value products off ebay for these models as the demand is not as high as other sectors in the model market. You'd be surprised how cheap you can get 12 month old AUTOArt models if you know where to look for them wink

I collect 1:43 models and all i can say is Minichamps have the most extensive range aswell as the best detail.

A lot better than kits which are to easy to mess up. Good luck with your search
