I was given these godawful models a few years ago and frankly I'm tired of them looking at me when i open the cupboard. They are hand painted in what appear to be home made cases, quite weighty - lead or some other white metal. Anyway, I'd like to see the back of them, are they worth selling or should i give them to a modeling enthusiast should he/she want them?

It could be worse, it could be Zulus - thousands of them.

Off topic - but what does "meh" mean?

It makes people sound like a bunch of sheep.

Apparently, according to Collins which have included it in their 30th anniversary dictionary;

"The dictionary will define "meh" as an expression of indifference or boredom, or an adjective meaning mediocre or boring."

I'll settle for "plain annoying", which is in no way meant as a definition of the word itself.

So I guess Nismo is referring to models (just those pictured?) as boring?

Thanks for the explanation. Obviously, being an old fogey, I'm not completely up to speed on the latest expressions of "the young set".

I certainly don't think the models are boring, just probably not to my (or the OP's) taste.

I don't think they are boring at all. Just really not my thing. I have never seen the appeal in figurines , just like people who collect these don't see the appeal of model cars which i do.

Ebay them.

They appear to be 54mm white pewter figures, and there's a fair amount of effort and skill gone into the painting of them with regards highlighting and weathering effects (the Zulu's feet).

I actually quite like them, but then my other interest is collecting antique arms from both periods. I might be interested in them if you want to get rid of them.

The first photo seems to depict an early lead/white metal Post Militaire French figure and horse in 90mm. This company stopped trading some years ago and so there is a rarity value for collectors but probably worth a lot more had it been an untouched kit.

I do recognise the kidney shaped plaster base of the second figure as being a common feature in Verlinden Kits. If so, that figure is completely made of plastic resin and will be 120mm in scale- worth little.

ebay

If it's worth something you will find out. If not, chuck them in the bin.

Problem solved.
