Hi guys,

I eventually gave in after wanting a nitro car for almost 15yrs and bought myself one last month for me birthday. I spent a fairly long time looking for something fast (I didn't know just how fast these are) And eventually found a Cen GX1 2speed, nitro 1/10th scale Rs focus. And my god this is fast. I bought it second hand and then in true Olly style I bought a spare one incase anything got broken! So I've now got one fully built working one a rolling chasis with no engine. 2 Focus bodies, one smashed to hell the other perfect. Now I have only found somewhere to use this once frown and when it was going t was great. but I then got a call to return home by the mrs and since then I'm struggling to find and open car park other than early on sunday mornings to run this as I don't think the ride is suited to off road running.

so 2 questions should I keep this and try and find somewhere to sun it? If so how do I tuine the engine can you reset the needles and start again etc?? Or should I offer it up and try and get a more off road suited one as I think I'd find it easier to get off roead. I don't want to run it on rough stuff as the rolling chasis has many marks on it and the good runner is really in very good condition so would like to keep it that way.

Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks for reading this rather long speel lol

I have a 1/10th Nitro road car and have hardly used it as its too much of a pain in the arse to get in my car and drive to the local trading estate to run it. In hindsight I should have bought an off road buggy. If I was you I would sell it and get an off roader.

I was in the same boat, wanted a nitro car due to never being able to afford one when I was younger frown Anyhow, jumped in at the deep end and bought a Schumacher Nitro Fusion and BLOODY HELL, WHAT HAD I DONE. It's waaaay to quick to drive anywhere, and unfortunately I don't have a spare runway I could use. It's never even been out of second gear. The guy at the model shop did say to me at the time that I was supposed to work my way up to the Schumacher, but what could possibly go wrong? Built it up, took it down the local industrial estate and smashed it to bits (£100 to get repaired frown)

So, back to the local model shop, went in to buy a helicopter and was talked out of by the owner, and he suggested an off-roader. Went for a Thunder Tiger MTA4, much better fun and a lot more usable! Still managed to smash it to bits on my first outing (massive piece of grass, one tiny block of concrete in the middle, guess what I hit?). The Schumacher is now sitting gathering dust in my cupboard, but will use it again one day. Still want a helicopter though bounce

Get your hands on an off-roader of some sort!

If your only using these occasionally then an electric might be better as engines will need tuning and messing about with.
batterys (if stored correctly) will keep working even if you only use them once a month.

Yeah on my first outing Prior to me phone call beconing me home I managed to hit a small kerb and the battery pack zip tie snapped rendering play a little awkward. Good job I had spares.

4hero, When I was speaking to the guy before I bought this he said the same have you any experience and the man in me said YES I HAVE MUCH! Sadly real world drving is not the same and neither is the electric ones I had as a kid or the Stig rally car that the Mrs baught for a stocking filler! (just goes in circles)

I must say these one that are ready to run and do 90+mph must be mad. I am to aware of others that I'll not run this up our street and the local industrial estate has suddenly got a security guy and an ex SS guy running it. "aint you a bit old to be playing with that mate?" Made my day.

Ok so I think the general feeling is to sell it. Now would it be better to sell it all as a job lot?? or as a working car then sell spares what sort of price should I am for is there a thought on swopping it? What sort of off roader should I aim for etc? I like the idea of the electric but the speed of the nitro is still the main attraction. big kid hehe.

I love the idea of the helicopter. Everytime I hit the trafford centre I get glued to the window of the model shop like a rubber garfield, lol.

I have one of the little indoor ones and that fills my needs for the bigger thing as I can't fly that very well lol.

Cheers for the input guys
