Le Mans collection... - help needed....

As title - I need some help, and hope that you guys may be able to help...
The better halves uncle passed away at the weekend, and was an avid collector of model cars, and in particular cars that would compete at Le Mans..
He's got (or should that read had) hundreds of the things, and have been asked to help in finding out what they're worth, and then helping to pass them on to someone else so they can appreciate them...
I appreciate you're not allowed to sell items on here, and that’s fine - (if needs be, I'll find the time to advertise them on the classified section of the site), but was hoping you may be able to point me in the direction of any specialist shops / websites that may be interested in taking these as a job lot, or where i could offer them..?
I'm based in London, so shops that’s not a million miles away would be grand, if there is such a thing.
There are numerous special editions, and they all have the original boxes too...
If Ebay is the best bet then so-be-it, but that is going to be time consuming, and they'll of course take their slice of the pie also...

When I needed to sell an old Corgi model, I dealt with Quality Diecast Toys ( http://www.qualitydiecasttoys.com/).
They sold the item on commission for me, and looked after the pricing, advertising and the sale itself.
It's possible I could have got a better price if I'd put a lot of work into it, but I was happy that I got a good price with minimal effort.

I think it would depend on if they are built kits or just the Minichamps or IXO type of ready built.
If they are built kits it would depend on the quality of construction and condition as to what they are worth.
If they are ready builts, take a note of the vehicles and cruise eBay looking for prices. Some of the Le Mans cars, especially the Porsches and Mclaren F1s can go for some decent prices. However the days of £395 for the Minichamps Davidoff Mclaren are long gone.
If they are a mix of the two, I'd go to eBay and sell it as an entire collection especially if it is as complete as you say it might be. If it is really complete it might even be worth having a chat with the auction houses.

Thanks for teh replys - the models themselves are for the most part minichamps or the like, and there are a lot of seeming special edition sets (for example he has the 3 car set of the Porsche 956 that won the 1982 race), and I'm sure they're worth quite a bit..

Some of the MC/Ixo/Quartzo/Spark Porsches 956/962 can go for some surprising figures, especially the ones with cigarettes decals applied and now Spark are strictly limiting quanties. There are a lot of Germans who love Porsches (you only have to have a look at MCs release schedule to confirm this.) and have vast collections, so will pay good sums for missing links.
