model car tyres..any way to improve the sidewall look?

sideways tend to look a bit fake , im not looking for worn out weathered looking , just a bit more realistic

any ideas ?

im already sandpapering the tread to help it look like its been on the road

You could try giving them a coat of satin clear, such as Humbrol 135. I always do this after applying tyre name decals.
