The clutch has started to get heavy on my Clio it doesn't slip but the biting point is really high is this a sign the clutch is on it's way out, the car has done 90k miles

The bite point on the OH's 1.2 is very high but always has been, not changed that I've noticed over 20K. I'm leaving it until it slips.

I have changed the cable on a couple of these due to a heavy clutch... its helped in all cases to make it a bit lighter, but its usually the pressure plate finger pivots wearing and going dry that make it heavy...

A temporary fix is to get some spray grease and give the pressure plate and release bearing pivot a squirt through the clutch arm hole. pull back the gaiter and spray in with an extension tube like you find on the tins of spray grease, do it with the engine running. don't go as mad with it so as to soak the drive plate though...!!

I have done this on a load of cars where the clutch has gone heavy, makes a big difference!

yes, I know its a bodge... but if it makes the clutch lighter on an old car...

Mine on my previous clio was always very high, as well as heavy.

The higher they get, the closer they are to wearing out, but mostly it's just a trait of the car.
