What can anyone tell me about these? How do they compare to a Lotus of the same vintage?

They are a very rare beast?? all I know is they are a very early Matra with a Renault Gordini engine.
Why not try www.matraclub.org.uk there may be guys who could give you some info??

Quite rare, even in France now.

Someone I used to know through the Matra club has a dead but restorable one living under a tarpaulin in Oxon !
