Renault Megane convertible - roof stopped working!

I tucked up my 2003 Megane Convertible (last of fabric roof) last September. Retrieved it out of the garage over the Easter break and find that roof mechanism has stopped working. I have tried fuses etc but it just beeps and stops. This is a great wee car with just over 60,000 miles and like new. Has anyone had this problem before - and did you get it resolved? Thanks
