Renault Megane 1.9DCi's

I was just wondering how reliable these cars are?

I was contemplating getting the 120bhp version on a 54 plate, but the mechanic that mot's my cars has scared me off saying they're very unreliable & suffer electrical gremlins.

Whats everyones experience of them here?
