Hi,

Can anyone recommend a garage in Basingstoke that is good with Renaults? (Apart from the main dealer). Have tried Google and searching these forums, but it isn't looking popular.

Thanks,

Adrian.

What type of Renault is it?

I take my 182 down to K-Tech in Dorset for servicing etc as it is usually cheaper than main dealers and the service is great. I have to sit around when there if it is only for an hour or 2 or if it is a major service then I can get a courtesy car and nip into Bournemouth.

Hi thanks,

The tappets need doing apparently. Personally I think the head gasket has gone (creamy gunge under oil filler cap) but the main dealer thinks otherwise.

So what I'm after is someone who really knows their engines.

Car is an '04 Clio, petrol, 1.4 - I think (it's my personal car so I can't be very specific).

Thanks again,

Adrian.

Rentech in Portsmouth are very good smile

They, & JMS in Uxbridge are the only people other than myself to have worked on any of my cars in the past 5 years.

When my Megane broke down in Basingstoke on Xmas Eve it was recovered to MPC Basingstoke on the Moniton Trading Estate in the Worting area of town, they were pretty good, think the car was away for 2 weeks over the holidays before I got it back, the bill was somewhere under £400 inc. labour for a replacement Body Control Module, might be worth a look-see
