arnage questions when viewing

I'm going to look at an Arnage T next week & I've never owned a Bentley before.
I've gleaned from old threads about the hydraulic service,
are there any other specific things to ask or look for? (it's 6 years old)

You may want to look for signs of corrosion (not just rust)

Check every single toy on the car

Check the suspension functions correctly etc

Make sure the service history book matches the car

Given the cost of putting things right on these cars, it's always a good thing to get the car inspected and if being sold by a dealer, ask the Bentley Drives Club or Rolls Royce Enthusiasts club what they think of the people selling the car

That 'specialist' may also be the person who when you google his ebay user id theres someone who happens to be in the same geographical location as him who uses the same user id for a swingers club or two!...

Seriously though if you are buying an Arnage then a specialist inspection will be worth every penny.Arnages can and do rust-check the wheel arch inners and around the sunroof which are common areas for corrosion.A good well cared for example should have perfect paintwork and perfect interior(mine is 10 years old now and is like new inside and out).Ive seen reconnolised or cracked leather interiors with marks and scratches on so steer well clear if the car you are looking at is like this.They should be serviced every year regardless of mileage and if the car is 6 years old then it is due the hydraulic service(budget around £2k plus vat at a specialist for this).Be aware that parts are v.expensive for the Arnage,when I got mine I wanted the car perfect so had the hydraulic service done and a few other bits attended to(leaking power steering pipes,suspension bushes(watch out for front tyre wear on the insides),aircon rad was holed(a grand for the part alone),a couple of engine oil leaks,new brake pipes etc)and the bill was £8k.

They are great cars and there are some cheap ones around at the moment but you the best way to go about things is buy the best-not the cheapest.A cheap Arnage can very easily and very quickly become an expensive one!

I bought mine last October.....nothing has really gone wrong (other than punctures!!!!!!!! - check these, they're £280 a corner!).....the only minor niggle is a constantly leaking pwer steering hose.....it doesn't seem to be fixable?!

As someone mentioned above though, check all the toys - anything electric - folding door mirrors, all electric windows, seats front and rear..........

But just buy it - it'll cost a pretty penny, but it's well worth it!

Went a long way to look at a car and although it seemed 'fine' the owners p & j was a year older that he thought and therefore should have had its hyraudlic sevice
Sadly too many things didn't, literally, add up.
almost thinking to have a new jag xj instead!
