02 plate Cooper S has been in the garage for the last 6 weeks as I have not been able to drive, to having had an op.

The battery is now flat - and I can't get into the bloody boot to charge it again. And of course, the manual is in there too. I've lifted the rear seat squab but can't see anything to help there (hoping for a manual cord pull or similar). At least the batery is completely falt; when I used the keyfob button to get in all it did was set the alarm off, and in a small garage it was howling like a banchee and I had to get out and close the door it was so loud.

How do I get into the boot? I hope that it isn't as involved as for the TVR frown

TIA.

There are two charging points under the bonnet, one under a black cap with battery symbol on (http://img.scoop.co.nz/stories/images/0507/07f1611f718a3e66b9ab.jpeg)Just up from the S on the super charger cover

The other on the left side of the super charger.

Not got a Haynes manual with me at the moment but I will have a look when I get home and take a piccies for you.

Just for future reference, i am sure there is a manual release for thw boot under the rear passenger seat.

You might need to check and confirm, as i don,t own an r53 anymore.

They pull cord under the seat was only fitted after 2003. under the bonnet there is a positive connection left of the air box, has a + sign on and the negative goes on the left gearbox mount where the - sign is. With a battery connected to that you will be able to open the boot or unlock the car.
