Just got my MINI Cooper S and must say its amazing, easily the best car i've ever driven.

However, I am baffled by a few things.

- The automatic wipers, how the hell do they work, I thought you just flicked it up one and it then did it automatic from then on but doesn't seem to be the case although I did get them working before but not sure what I did.

- The automatic headlights seem to come on even if its pretty much daylight.

- I read the exhaust was meant to pop etc in sport mode but I don't hear it myself? (Car is a 56 plate if that makes a difference)

- Finally the cruise control is a bit confusing, you have the up arrow to set the speed obviously but how do you re-engage it at the speed its set at? I thought it was the I/O button but didn't seem to do anything when I was playing with it.

Apart from that I love it, the only thing I miss that I had on my old car was a little hidey hole under the steering wheel and seat to keep valuables out of sight but guess I can use the glove box for that (mine doesn't have the secret upper glove-box.

For the wipers you press the button on the end of the column stalk.

And with the cruise, I/O is on and off. Press + to set the speed, and the speedo button to resume.

Congrats! Glad you are enjoying it.......

Cant really help with your questions as i have only had mine a little while. The popping in sport mode is quite difficult to achieve, although i got a slight pop without sport mode on? Most strange......

Post some pics

Re exhaust popping the best way to hear it is to find a tunnel/multiple storey car park and wind the windows down. Standard car doesn't pop as much as JCW but I found with mine when I had it that using higher octane fuel provoked more noise from the exhaust. It will do it more when the engine is fully up to temp. For best results you need to be in 2nd or 3rd at medium revs - put your foot down to build some more revs then either lift off or change gear, and you will be rewarded!
