People at work are looking at me in a strange way when I say I'm looking at getting the current JCW mini!
Apparently ALL minis are women's cars.
The JCW in question is the black with red roof and black alloys.
I am a 40 year old professional office worker and I should be looking for a grown up car!
The JCW would be replacing a golf gti edition 30. The JCW is just as quick and looks to have better fuel efficiency, and has all the toys and more that my Ed30 has.

Am I mad?

I'm 44 and not only have a Mini but also an MX5! I get comments about both cars but I don't care, I can silence anyone with a quick passenger ride in my MX5 (supercharged with 245bhp) and the Mini is just my day-to-day transport smile

Does it really matter?

I also drive a Mini Clubman S and an MX5. Let others think what they want, all I know is that I am happy with my car choice.

My wife drives a 156 2.4JTD Sport Wagon, so arguably the 'mans' car in the family. Does it bother either of us? No!

Mike

PS I am a 38 year old Engineering/ Production Manager if that makes a difference?

You caught the gheys? A bloke in a JCW? yikes

Only joking! Only got a Cooper S as the 3rd car, its a right laugh, and very different from your V12V. Best thing is to get it de-badged as well, then you can catch out anyone who think you are in a girls car.

No, you are not mad, get it bought! You've already got a grown up car! Get the JCW, you will regret it if you don't, they are great fun cars. driving

I've got the same colour scheme fjcw and I think it looks mean, not girly at all more like a tarmac rally car. I wish they offered 4 spot lights rather than 2 on the grill and a big rear diffuser, then it would be complete.

Offer anyone who says its not a mans car a quick spin. They'll soon shut up. They're quick and stick to the road like st to a shovel. Cheap to insure and good MPG. Whats not to like?

Now ask if a Z3 3.0 is a girls car? Want me to take you for a spin?

I remember the plate from a run up the strip.

Was there, but only as a spectator.
