R53 Cooper S wheels and brakes
Discussion
Guys, I'm picking up my cooper s this coming weekend, I fancy changing the bullet wheels but can't decide which ones? I've seen some on ebay that I like but I'm concerned as they seem too cheap http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/17-BMW-MINI-ONE-COOPER-M... does anyone have these wheels, are they any good?
I also want to change the discs and pads all round. There's a Mintex set on ebay for less than £150 again are these good value?
Apreciate your thoughts, many thanks..

How about these - Cades Vienna
I put Avon ZZ3 all round and it cost £800 all in. I sourced the wheels and tyres separately to get that price.
You should get a good price for the Bullet alloys as well to offset the cost.
I did my brakes all round and it is fairly easy but
1. You need to rewind the rear pistons so get the tool or a pair of long nose pliers
2. On the front the torx retaining bolt would not come out and it took ages to sort it. Get some WD on the rear by removing the caliper and rotating the disc a bit of heat helps as well. The other side was fine though I was just unlucky.
I had a set of Mintex Pads and Discs and they have been fine although they are prone to rust on the hub.

Thanks for your reply and advice, love your Cooper it looks great!(What size are your wheels)?
Is there a post out there with photos to help with the disc replacement? Also, how straight forward is it to paint the callipers, can anyone recommend a paint or a reasonably priced supplier of exchanged callipers?
Finally as I'm new to mini ownership,I fancy some viper stripes, who supplies the best quality. Thanks again for your help

The brakes are covered by the Haynes Manual.
