Discount available on new countryman ?
Discussion
After much compromising on her side in the past with my cars, I've finally let the mrs get her way and she's after a new countryman (most likely cooper sd auto) and I wondered if anyone had any experience with obtaining discounts through the dealerships on these
I went into Mini Swindon recently and they basically told me that they don't discount for anyone, which I found rather strange
We'll probably be buying though the 50/50 scheme (pay 50% upfront and 50% in 2 years) although we could possibly stretch to cash if it shows significant benefit
I've kinda prided myself of being able to get a discount on every singe car I've bought, so his 'no wat Jose' attitude came as quite a shock
Any advice on perhaps other mini dealerships offering discounts or other deas would be greatly appreciated

Try another dealer that wants your business.
We easily got 5% off, and plenty of other goodies thrown in on both our new MINI's, and then the 50/50 0% finance.
What Car and the car broker sites will give you a good idea of what sort of discount you should be able to obtain, e.g:

Resist the sports suspension option and whatever you do, don't tick the run-flat tyres option - they ruin the ride, are heavy, noisy, tramline, skitter over bumps, and are altogether awful.

Collected my partners Countryman this afternoon...she loves it! We went for the 4 year finance option and they gave a dealer discount of around £580 and when we went for the split sunroof option we managed to get a little knocked off that too! I guess it depends on the dealer! Also went for pepper pack and no run flats!
