The rears need replacing on the wife's JCW R53MCS with JCW sports suspension.

R105 18" wheels currently with RFs sized 205/40/18

As the fronts are also down to about 3-4mm - I am thinking time to stick on some better boots all round. Having done some searches it seems 215/35/18 is the way to go with this set up to be sure of no rubbing etc.

So choices I am faced with are:

Goodyear F1 @ about £540/set
Yokohama Parada 2 about £540/set
Toyo Proxes T1-R about £460/set
Continental Sport Contact 2 about £600/set

Advice gratefully received from anyone with experience of the above.

I've just fitted a set of AC Schnitzer alloys that came with 215 35 R18 Yokohama Parada Spec 2s. First 18" I've run on the car so no comparisons, but they seem pretty decent and drive well. Had a lot of wet weather use over the last few weeks, and are much better in standing water than I would have expected.

Dom.

Annoyed that Search facility was down, but delighted when first topic I come across is the one I need. I guess the same applies to standard Cooper S in terms of tyres?? Also with tyre pressures spot on, I see wear on the inside and outside shoulders of the N/S front tyre (as if it was under inflated). Is this normal wear pattern on a Cooper S or indicative of alignment/suspension issue?

Wear on outer edges seems quite normal on cooper S cars from what I have seen. Lots of people rotate fronts and backs to extend the life because of that issue.

Thanks for that - I'm used to running asymmetric/rotational tyres on my Noble where swooping corners isn't an option, but I will deffo make sure I remember to do that in future on the Mini.

Paradas are the way forward. Contis are the second choice.
