I used a Saris Bones 3 when I had my old Cooper S. It's not particularly cheap, but it's a great piece of kit that can be fitted in a few minutes and so long as you don't put it on top of a dirty or dusty bumper, it won't scratch your paintwork either.
It's also small enough to be stored in the MINI's boot if you fold the rear seats down, so that you don't have to worry about it getting stolen off the back of the car while you're away cycling.
