My neighbours have matching golfs, I've always considered this a bit sad and taken the piss accordingly.

Well.....
This weekend my good lady went shopping for a new car and ended up buying a cooper D convertible, very nice it is too. She picked it up today.
Whilst in the dealership I noticed a rather tasty John Cooper Works hatchback. One test drive and a couple of days of man maths later and I'll be picking it up on Friday.

They are at least different colours and body styles. That's my defence at least.

Never really considered a MINI before, but dead impressed on the test drive and I had a hankering for something turbo charged.
Roll on friday.......

Nice, we have considered running two minis but haven't got round to it yet.

My parents had two original Minis between 1970 and 1976, until my baby sister was born. Then they 'upgraded' to an allegro estate. The shame......

Hope you enjoy yours...... Get some piccies up when you have them both.....

Welcome to the "multiple MINI's" club, and you're most definitely not alone.

Plenty of others have similarly discovered just how great they are to drive.

Enjoy collecting the JCW tomorrow, and yes, piccies are a must! smile

Mrs has an 08 Cooper S Convertible and I have an 03 Cooper. Great little cars.

Hers is obviously quicker but runs on horrible Pirelli Euphoria run flats and has stiffer suspension so the ride is bad at best. Mine has Goodyear NTC5 run flats which are terrible tyres in terms of wet/cold grip but otherwise ride well so my car is much more comfortable and actually feels better to throw around on a b-road as it feels less like it wants to throw me into a hedge. Both are going to need new tyres soon so both with be changed to non-RF.

I can allow her to have the faster Mini as I also have a pocket-rocket supercharged MX5 with 243bhp biggrin

So, have you been enjoying your new MINI's? driving

And which one was used most last week - the JCW or the convertible, in all the nice weather?

Nice MINI's appearing on this thread from everyone - room for more MINI piccies if you haven't posted yours yet yes

I'm enjoying mine, alright. Although I realised it's 8 years or so since I had a front wheel drive car so it felt a bit odd initially. The ride is much firmer than the MX-5 it replaced, but that's 19" wheels and run flats for you. Still getting used to it I suppose, but it's putting a smile on my face when I open the garage door.

I cleaned them both at the weekend and took hers for a spin afterwards, roof up as it was wet. Definitely a good buy. Mrs ehonda hasn't even sat in my car yet! Shocking. As punishment I've made her take our camper van for a run today for the 100 mile trip she's got planned. That'll learn her!

Have given this some thought as well. The Mrs uses the Cooper S and I have been thinking of getting a Clubman S to replace the Polo, most likely in the same colour scheme. Sad I know but I don't care what others think smile. However, I have this thing about buying a VW T5 Transporter and using it as a Camper so need to decide.

Enjoy the JCW. I wanted the black one with red roof and mirrors but the JCW would have been totally wasted on the Mrs performance wise so we got the S with the body styling on instead. Also, a note to other R56 Cooper S owners on here, get the JCW Factory backbox off of the production JCW car( not the JCW kit you can buy ) and enjoy some interesting sounds wink
