Clutch / flywheel noises...

I bought a 2007 Cooper S hatch in July last year from a dealer. It came with a year's warranty as a result. So far I've not had any major issues, although it does use a bit of oil (but that's probably due to it using such thin oil and burning it off in hard driving). The main thing that I'm concerned about is a strange noise (a sort of whooping sound) coming from the clutch / dual-mass flywheel when you engage the clutch repeatedly, such as in stop-start motorway traffic. The local dealer to me said it may simply be an uneven clutch plate or flywheel... Any thoughts?
