Clubman with 2 rear seatbelts...

Looking at buying a clubman but it only had 2 rear seatbelts. Is it possible to retrofit the centre 3 point belt? What would it cost?

Was it a cost option from new?

If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.

It is currently an option to remove the five seat configuration. Therefore the Mini you are looking has probably unticked this box. From memory on mine (five seat configuration) the third seat belt is mounted within the roof lining - so I would imagine its quite a big (expensive) job to retrofit - unless the mounting is still in the headlining on yours?

Tomorrow AM I will take a look at mine..... I would look for another rather than retro-fit....

The dealer (not a mini dealer) has said they are going to look into it tomorrow. I think they are desperate to do a deal. If the cost is too much they won't be paying though.

Do you know if the seat is any different too?

There is a long story that leads me to asking this question in the first place... I may tell it one day.

We want quite a specific car and this one ticks all boxes (apart from the 2 seats thing) so we may have to go for it if they say it's possible.

The seat bases are indeed different too - depends if you need to regularly carry three in the back - if not, the other one/two will appreciate the more comfortable two-seat rear bench with wider space between the seatbelt mounts.

Never really looked at the five seat configuration in my Clubman. I would say in mine the rear seat looks like it is for two people - but it does have the third seat belt - as mentioned before it is mounted from the headlining. Not sure I would carry three in the back for any distance TBH.

What specification are you looking for?

It had to be blue with silver roof and c pillars. Cooper S with chilli pack and multi function steering wheel and less than 40k miles. I would travel to get one though.

A search on trader brings up 6 or 7 and I'd only go and look at 1 of them.

I need to do a straight swap with what I have too. This is the long story bit which probably isn't that long really.
