Having a problem with the drivers side door glass not auto closing when the door is closed. It pops down the required amount on grasping the handle, but stays in the partialy open position on closing the door not so bad when you are in the car as you can close it from the switch but when you get out to leave the car it is a problem. Is it a switch in the door that confirms "door closed" or something else? And basicaly how does the door trim come off to get at the problem if its in there?
Thanks in anticipation

Try winding the window down totally and hold the switch in that position for about 30 seconds, this normally resets the window motor.

As above, but you need to do it a few times.

Sit in the car, shut the door, turn on the ignition/engine.

Press and hold the window button to lower the glass, when the glass reaches the bottom, keep holding the switch, count to ten, and release.
Then press and hold the switch up to raise the glass, when the glass reaches the top, keep holding the switch, count to ten and release.

Repeat the above a couple of times, and it will be all reset.

I recently had problems with my windows, tried loads of closing techniques and none worked for me. In the end Mini charged £45 to "reset the system with diagnostic equipment" I hope yours is easier/cheaper to fix.

Insert the keys and turn on the ignition. It does not matter whether you start the car or not.

Put the window all the way up

Press and hold the window switch in the up position for 10 or more seconds. Do this with the door closed.

Open the door to make sure the window drops as it should. Close the door to make sure it goes back up again.
