Hardtop for convertables.......
Discussion
Why do you think you need one?
I've been driving MX5s for 14 years in all weathers and never felt the need for one and my Mrs has a MCS convertible and the hood on that is better than on the MX5 in terms of noise suppression & insulation.
The only good reason I can think of is security if you have to park in a dodgy area in which case a convertible might not be the best car to have, especially as hard-tops seem to get stolen more often than soft-tops get vandalised!

Well, you may not but some people do......Not only from a security aspect but in winter, if the car is parked outside, it can keep the elements at bay & the hood in good condition.
The hatch would provide a design challenge but I suspect there is a small market for this product ....

My Mrs has a MCS convertible and the hood is fabric with a glass rear window - I believe they all are. As long as you clean and protect it (i.e. use a good mildew inhibitor and waterproof protector) then the weather will not damage it. It's not like the old vinyl hoods with plastic rear windows which can shrink & crack in cold weather.
