Mini GP wheels - sizes/offsets/choices ?
Discussion
Just looking at the options available on the Mini GP R53. I know it comes with its own 'special' wheels which seem to be akin to the old polished/diamond cut e46 M3 wheels in that they oxidize badly and start to bubble, repairs being expensive.
So what do most go with as an alternative. I see the OEM are 18" but assume that you can go with 17" without any issues of them not fitting over the discs and calipers. Are there any issues if you upgrade the brakes to the latest OEM setup (316mm - ?).
Finally does anyone know the offsets on the GP or what offsets can be used in general without causing problems or wheels sticking out. Are offsets pretty similar on the R53 and R56 Cooper/ Coopers S and so most of the wheels interchangeable.
Any help appreciated.

You can go to an ET of roughly 35 without problems.

Yes, I did thank you. As I understand it the JC Works brakes are only single pot 280mm so I want to upgrade at some point. Am I right in saying the newer R56 Cooper S hs the 316mm 4 pots? Have you upgraded yours.
What oil are you using make/viscosity 0W-40 ??

I have the original R53 works brakes, single pots with 294mm vented and drilled discs. With braided lines, race fluid and better pads they are 'okayish'. I've recently driven a roadster works with the 316mm 4pots and they are great, they have less travel before they bite and feel real solid. What oil are you using make/viscosity 0W-40 ??

I changed from 10W60 to 0W40 last week as I have visited a few tracks in the past. Now back to the advised oil for works models, castrol edge 0W40.
