Pushchair / Buggy in a Mini Clubman
Discussion
This is more of an informational thing than needing advice, but having trawled the web for weeks and found nothing we've done some research ourselves and thought it's probably worth sharing. We have a 2012 Mini Clubman and want a buggy for a newborn which fits in the boot without having to fold the seats down, but the only info I could find online was about the Mini hatch, nothing about the Clubman.
The first one we looked at was the Bugaboo Bee, which is about the smallest one available. It fitted easily lying flat on the boot floor with loads of room for other stuff on top of it, but the buggy itself isn't ideal for various boring baby related reasons (a bit low, not much good on sand and grass because of small wheels) so we decided to try a few more.
Next up was a Bugaboo Chameleon which I was thinking (hoping) wouldn't fit, but it actually did. Luggage blind out and the base fitted on its side, with the carry cot in next and the boot was full, but it was all in and didn't block the rear screen either.
Finally we tried the Quinny Moodd (stupid name) which again filled the boot but fitted fairly easily. However, the self-opening gas strut powered folding mechanism won it for the engineering and gadget geek in me so that's the one we're going to order (and the fact it seems better made, and comes in a shiny white finish). Luckily for us the Mini is my wife's car and if we're going somewhere with all of us then we'll take my BMW which has plenty of room so as long as the buggy fits in the boot it doesn't matter if it fills it completely.
So, a Clubman has a significantly bigger boot than a regular Mini which opens up a lot more sprog-ferrying options, but unfortunately they're all still painfully expensive! Just because someone says they can't fit something in the boot of their Fabia doesn't mean it can't be made to fit in a Clubman.

Hi Jamie
Thats very useful thanks! We are expecting our second child in two months time. We have a Maclaren travel system, that won't fit in our clubman unless I get the roofbox out.
Our second car is not massive either - we have always chosen small cars because of the awkwardness of getting out our driveway....
Thanks again
Mike

We recently bought a buggy from mother care. Not sure of the name but it fits in the boot of our cooper convertible. And the boot is much smaller than yrs. it was about 100, and what made it good is that the handles dropped in themselves. That's what made it small enough for the wife to get it in and out.
