hello mini folks' i have a problem with my 2006 cooper s ....its will lag big time in
1st gear especially when not fully warm 'it almost drops off so i cant pull out in front off someone ... i have never had this before it just loose all power for a second! it has almost 50'000 miles now .... maybe i will test it out when its hot tomorrow to see how it responds (but any idea's ) thank you

Have you changed the Spark plugs and ht leads yet? Our Mini One felt like a new car after we replaced them at 30k miles smile

common fault that can do this is a fault with the bypass valve
or any kind of boost leak can cause similar issues

i will replace ht leads and plugs as they haven't been changed yet ..and go from there ...thanks guyssmile

You also might want to look at the coils. If one is gone it is best to renew all 4.

I had similar with my old one.

unless it was one of the very first R56 models released at the end of 2006 it only has a single coilpack

i just checked the coil pack and number 3 and 4 were very dirty but 1&2 looked like new! i will give her a blast tomorrow and see where we are at .....
