Car is a 2001 (51 reg) cooper with 195/55/16 tyres.

There is no spare. There is a tyre pressure sensor system and warning light

Did the car come with runflats like the man at cost co reckons.?

Brand ?

Car does not have runflats now. Fronts are 87H and backs 87V

It would definitely of had run flats not sure on the brand but they would have been Bridgestone, Pirelli or Dunlops.

I didn't think the 16" wheels were run flats.

Yep, my 03 Cooper had 16" Goodyear NCT5 RFs when I bought it.

Just checked my wife's Cooper.
Exactly as MX-5 Lazza says.
There was no other option when we bought it new in 03 - she has kept them on despite the numerous punctures as at least she can get home safely with a flat tyre.

Not bad tyres, they don't ruin the ride quite as much as many other RFs but they are still a bit harsh, noisy and with little grip, especially in the wet. I replaced with Falken no-RFs and they are way better.

They are nowhere near as bad as the RFT's were on my old 130i M Sport. The change to PS3's was dramatically better...and then I sold it.

I may change from RFT's on my JCW once they need replacing but, as my wife nicks it when she has a longer trip, I am inclined to indulge her and look for the best riding RFT's - if such a thing exists - than change to real tyres and a can of foam.

Let's face it, in the south east, foam tyres would still be harsh on our roads.

Given the difference in price is it worth it ?
