Hi everyone,

Been lurking around here on PH a while now and thought I'd finally register! Currently have a 2005 Hyper Blue Cooper S JCW, which I never want to part from! So far, have had no major issues, but I am fairly technically minded which means I've read up a fair bit on these cars to give me a better understanding of what goes on underneath... smile

Hi David, that looks lovely! IIRC Black Eye Purple was a pretty rare colour? Will be putting up a photo when I get back to my home PC... smile

That looks good. A nice colour.

The dyno looks impressive - when I had my old V8 TVR done he just put blocks under the front wheels and let rip.
A block wall 20ft in front and no extraction..
Sounded awesome and 263bhp but a bit scary.
He just left the doors open for ventilation and peeing off the neighbours.

What do these sound like? I've got the cooper works back box on my S and dam its loud! Pops and bangs on gear changes and has a throaty sound when accelerating.

What is the GP beyond a JCW?
Looks very nice.

I still can't get any pops and bangs out of my JCW - trying super petrol doesn't work either.

Has it been into BMW for anything recently?
There were a couple of people on another forum that had new software programmed and theirs no longer pop and bang, just a thought (one just had a stereo changed)

Various aero, suspension and engine bits. Mine is running around 230bhp biggrin

Mine has a Janspeed manifold, reduced pulley, airbox and will pop and bang all day long. Sounds fantastic on gear changes and over run!
It does sound different depending on weather too laugh

Ah - right.
When I told my wife about the pops and bangs she gave me a look that said 'grow up!!'.

I don't think the car has been near a BMW dealer in years is it was serviced by an indie.
