Stiff gearbox linkage on MCS

Got a 2005 MCS R53 and the gear change isn't as smooth or as light as it used to be.

Any tips or advice? Do l need to oil the linkage?

A mate's just had this problem. We greased the linkage which is fairly easy to get to and it lasted a couple of weeks. He had the linkage replace and now it's silky smooth again. Tbh if / when mine goes I'll just replace the linkage.

Is that relatively easy to do or a garage job?

I think it's something that you can do yourself. However we've got a good mini specialist with good rates local to us so we tend to use him.
