17" to 16" ( or even 15" ) swap

I have a cooper on cooper s white minilite style wheels with 17" non runflat tires on.
Would I be right in thinking if I swapped over to 16" or 15" wheels, the ride would be better and tires cheaper?
What are a set of very good 17" wheels and tires worth? Tires about 20%. Are they worth more than a 16" set?

Yes apparently 16" is the sweet spot!

What condition etc tyre brand tread, as Mrs eightseventhree is wanting some white 8 spokes at the moment. Once you think of a price let me know!

Do you have 16" to swap?
I have 4 good condition wheels, 3 with BF Goodridge and one other, which I need to check, which is newer and replaced a punctured tire. I am watching ebay at the moment to see what they make. Ideally I want to swap like for like with newer tires on my incoming as I feel the 17" S rims are worth more.

Unfortunately not, I have a freshly refurbed set of the 2 piece "web" alloys with Dunlop Rft.

With fronts that are a few MM over the bands and rears that are fresh!
