GF's Cooper S auto is almost on 30,000 miles and is due MOT at month end. The front discs have a lip of may 2 to 3mm on them. These are the originals and the car is 8 in March.

How much should we expect to pay for :-

Front discs and pads fitted

Rear discs and pads fitted

No idea on fitted, but it's not a hard job, I am about to get discs and pads for my 03 for £125 then an afternoon on the drive.

I think newer sets are still less than £200, look around on eBay.

The ones I'm off for are brembo ones.

Did mine myself too. Got the discs & pads from a local auto factors for £100 so a pretty cheap DIY job.

Check the mini official site, dics and pads for the r50 are around 300 all 4 corners all in. Don't know if its the same price for r53.

It came back from Insp 2 today and they never mentioned it. So lets see what the MOT man thinks next Thursday.

8yrs old in March and may just have crept over 30,000 miles by then.

Thanks for the input.

As others have said relatively simple DIY job. However the one potential spanner in the works is the disc retaining torx bolt, it can be an absolute bugger to remove particularly if it is the original smash. Just Something to bear in mind

I couldn't shift my torx bolts despite having the right tools so gave up and drilled them out. Didn't bother to replace. Coulnt see the point.
