I am sure it is obvious to you guys on this forum but I have just acquired what was advertised as a Genuine JCW 2007 plate but not sure other than the obvious markings, component etc if it just a souped up Cooper S.The engine is turbo charged and I have with the documentation a JCW Tuning CD. Can anyone advise what I need to look for.

Put the reg into MyCarCheck app and see what BHP and model are shown.

I just checked with a dealer before I bought it. They actually did it for free (including a print out)yikes

Mine was PDI'd as an S and then JCW'd the day after as the JCW wasn't a factory option back in 05.
I don't have a certificate though but it doesn't really seem necessary.

Just checked with BMW and they have confirmed the car is a Factory JCW. They said that I should have a certificate of authenticity with a CD which I haves I am now well pleased. Thanks for the help.

What is on the CD?
I'm not too bothered about the certificate though - I guess the first owner has it In filing cabinet somewhere.

You sure? Factory model JCW didn't arrive until august 2008. Sounds like a cooper s with a JCW tuning kit? In which case it'll be 192bhp not 211

Do you have JCW on the exhaust tips? If you do then it's a dealer fitted JCW upgrade. If it's plain (still slash cut tips of course) then it's a factory JCW. To my knowledge all pre 2008 JCW's were dealer upgrades which don't have the upgraded turbo etc.
