Thanks nearly spat tea all over the place from laughing reading this.

I love my classics but they are not really suitable for doing over 10K a year in. When I first drove a Countryman I expected the hate it I've driven a R53 and R56 and both impressed me with how like the Mini they were but I really did expect the Countryman to be lacking in it's MININESS but it really isn't that different.

The only problem with having Minis and a MINI is I can get nice bits for both......... I think I may be very poor for a long timebiggrinlaugh

I know what you mean.

I was parked next to a Countryman JCW at Oxford MINI a few weeks ago, it made our A6 estate look small hehe

I've just bought an R56 MCS, great little car!

Took a brand spankers Countryman SD All4 Manual out yesterday. Definitely got a lot of grunt, I didn't do much more than pootle through town, but when I swapped with my customer, he gave it some stick. Jesus. Think the Auto probably suits it better. I'm quite enjoying my Countryman demo, quite a pleasant distance motorway cruiser, just wish it had a little more low-end/mid-range lunch to stop the gearbox deciding its time to get revtastic at a slight incline.
