Having a bit of an argy bargy with MINI at the moment and would be interested to know if anyone else has had this problem. On two occasions now, I have booked the car in to official MINI centres for sevicing and MOT's and each time the car has failed the MOT as they do not remedy problems before the car is tested.

The car went in yesterday and amongst the problems I asked to be sorted out was a hole in the exhaust back box and a tyre pressure warning light coming on. At lunchtime,I had a call from the service reception advising the car had failed the test as a)there was a hole in the exhaust and b)there was a nail in a tyre. What a surprise!

I have never had a car fail an MOT before, as usual practice is a simultaneous service and MOT booking so that any problems are picked up before the car is sent for testing.

Seems very poor practice from MINI imho anyway.

My experience is that they get the MOT tester to do his bit so they know what to deal with, sort it out, plus the service and then take it back for the free re-test.
