Hi never posted on this wall before so bear with me. A friend of mine has just brought an 06 mini one and she was wondering weather she could connect her iPod to the radio ?. Iv had a look round but I can't find any obvious AUX connection points so was just wondering weather there's an AUX input behind the standard Mini radio witch could be used or would they have to buy a new radio ?.

Thanks in advance guys any help appreciated.....

If it has the Boost headunit then with a car that age you should be able to buy the aux cable kit from MINI (or aftermarket) which plugs into the rear of the headunit. This then provides a 3.5mm socket at the other end.

If you end up with a jack in socket you might consider one of these:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-Caraudio-Connect-AU...

The phone connects to that by bluetooth, it then plugs in to the stereo jack in.

The advantage is you can skip tracks by pushing that button and it also works as a handsfree device (you press the button to accept a call and it has a mic in it).

There might be something in the glovebox but I don't think MINI's of that age had an actual aux connector like the newer ones.

Iv had a good look round the car includeing the glove box and I haven't found anything. I don't think the aux units were put in as standered till late 07 but not sure on that thanks anyway mate.

When on a call it uses the stereo as the speaker, the widget you see is just a button that has the microphone in.

In the cubby hole in front on the gear stick, you might not see it, but should be able to feel it if it's there.
