I'm thinking of buying a new Clubvan for the business,visited the local dealer who were totally clueless about the'van,didn't have one to look at,or seem to know anything about them. I'm not into new MINIS so don't really know one model from another,so has there just been a new version launched or is there just about to be,and if so will the van version be this new model? Because this is a business purchase the guy in the MINI showroom had to call for a business salesperson who walked over from the BMW showroom.She didn't know anything about MINI's,was on loan for the day from another dealer in the group and had only worked for them for eight weeks.I'm still a bit stunned really,there were four people in the showroom doing nothing and I was the only customer.Every question that I asked was answered with "I dont't know really"
The clubvan is based upon the MINI Clubman. The Clubman is a stretched version of the MINI hatch (R56).
The hatch is due for replacement in March this year. I have not heard whether the clubman will be replaced as it sales are not that great. Therefore, I reckon the clubvan may not be replaced but still manufactured for a few years on the old Clubman platform.
Some insiders may have more knowledge than my guessing!
The dealership sound pretty poor, but I prefer the honesty of 'I don't know' than being fed crap.........(having just spouted some crap myself!!
