Hi

We have the above problem on our 2010 Cooper, I've messed around with turning it off and on, not having the heater on etc but no joy - any ideas why this could be ? It's handy to have as the car is mostly in traffic

Thanks in advance

AC

Like a lot of bmw cars with stop start, once the battery gets a few years old and starts to loose efficiency, the first thing that stops working is stop start systems, two cars at work had same issues, New very expensive batteries cured it.
Possibly a good charge might get it working again if you are only doing short town journeys.

There's a load of parameters in the manual where it won't kick in. It drove me mad at first, trying to work out why it never seemed to come on, but the guidance in the manual is pretty useful IMHO.
