Just thought I'd start a quick thread detailing my new purchase smile

I have had 3 MINI's before and I'm currently in a BMW 1 series.

I popped into BMW to have a steering wheel trim replaced on my 1 series, and whilst I was waiting I popped over the car park to the MINI showroom where they had put their demo cars on display a couple of days early.

I instantly fell for the car and it's massively improved interior - personally I also think it's a great looking car too. I ended up talking numbers with a salesman and before I knew it I was seriously considering making a purchase!

I slept on it for all of 24 hours and last week, before the launch, I put a £500 deposit down to secure an order. I am expecting delivery to be the end of April or the beginning of May.....

The spec I have ordered is as follows:

Cooper S
Thunder Grey
White Roof / Mirrors
18" Cone Spokes in White
Leather Cross Punch Carbon Black / Carbon Black

MINI Yours Off White Interior Pack
- Interior trim (off white)
- MINI Excitment Pack

Media Pack XL
- MINI Navigation System XL
- Enhanced Bluetooth with USB audio
- MINI Connected XL

Chilli Pack
- Multifunction controls for s'wheel
- Floor mats
- Passenger seat height adjustment
- Storage compartment pack
- MINI Driving modes
- Rain sensor with auto headlight activation
- Air conditioning, dual zone automatic
- Interior lights pack
- LED fog lights

Sport Suspension
JCW Steering Wheel
Electric Folding Mirrors
JCW Roof Spoiler
Panoramic Electric Glass Sunroof
Darkened Rear Glass
Front Centre Armrest
Anthracite Headlining
Cruise Control with Brake Function
LED Headlights with Cornering function
Harman Kardon Hi-Fi

Here are a couple of images taken from the configuration site:

I will update as and when I know more in terms of a proper build week etc, but I'm very eager to get in the car ASAP!!!

Good deals?

I just read Andrew Frankel's write up in Motor Sport and he liked it, although the Cooper more than the S.

I was on the A34 on Friday, it was dusk, and going south from Oxford on the way home from work. A new Cooper S came past in yellow / orange - one thing that stood out by far were the headlights! Like lazerbeams, I actually first thought it was the rozzers and moved over, sort of purple/blue. Looked awesome, not sure on the rear though.

Anyway, enjoy the new car!

I always hated the new mini for having the central speedo and I hate cars that try to be retro, which is a shame cause I le the paceman

This new one looks great, I wasn't sure on the sloping lights at first but when I saw it close up it looks better. This grey looks great and it hides the wierd square things in the bottom thst stick out.

Led headlights are awesome too, glad they are featuring on small cars now.

What engines in these now?

Nice spec, was trying to persuade the misses to go for the sunroof, but she wasn't keen on it with white roof.

I think you will be lucky to get your car by April/May as contrasting roof has a major delay on it. We ordered in February, for an early April delivery and now won't be getting the car until late June at the earliest, most likely July.

Totally forgot about this thread, so sorry for not taking the time to reply….

I have now got a delivery week (w/c 19th May) so, fingers crossed I should be in the car soon!

I have taken delivery of a spare set of chrome headlight and taillight rings and also the large chrome ring around the front grille which are currently getting colour coded by my local body shop in time for delivery, and I also took delivery of these beauties yesterday….

Really happy with them, but they use radius seat bolts and it looks like NOBODY makes M14x1.25 radius seat bolts!!!!

So Wheelbase have sent me a set of Bimmec bolts which are using some kind an adapter washer to convert the 60 deg taper head into a radius seat head. They are the ones with the black band on the left in the photo below:

Ideally though, I would like to find some tuner bolts in the correct M14x1.25 radius seat fitment - but somehow I think its going to be impossible!! Would it be OK to just buy some regular 60 degree tuner bolts e.g these and swap the washer over from the supplied bolts?

Surely Speedline must be able to supply or at least let you know where you can get some!

Nice configuration. The car looks pretty much optioned out smile

I'm too scared to go into my MINI dealer in the off chance I'll trade my GP in for an F56.

Speedlines look great too.

The bolts that have been supplied will sort the wheels out, in terms of bolting them to the MINI.

Essentially its just a set of 60deg M14x1.25 taper bolts fitted with a conical washer that converts to the bolts to the correct radius seat fitment.

its just me being anal and wanting a set of bolts without the washers! frown

Speedline have said they do not know of a manufacture who makes a 'normal' set of M14x1.25 radius bolts.

The problem arrises as these are designed for 5x112 VAG cars who use radius bolts as stock.

PITA!!!

Will the 18s kill the handling like on the R53/56, or is it forgiving on the new model?

PS

Nice spec, can I have it smile
