Cooper S deisel noise from front end, help please

My wifes Mini has developed a knocking noise from around the front left hand side of the car.
When the car is under throttle you can't hear it everything is normal, but when you take the car off throttle the noise becomes obvious. Only noticeable while driving.
She recently had the front tyres changed but I have been underneath and had the wheels of and nothing looks out of place.
The car is a 2012, 2 door diesel with 13,000 on the clock.
Any ideas before I go to the dealer.
