Gearbox - 2005 Mini Cooper

Hi there,

Can anyone give some advice on costs/best advice on replacement gearbox on a 05 Cooper?

Wife just came home from work in first gear, for 3 miles!!

Gear stick is really loose although seems to go in to gear but when it 'slots' in to reverse the car goes forward!!

Its the gear linkage thats bust not the gearbox.
about £70 plus fitting.
