Try mini themselves but around £180 to £250 is about right. If it needs programming it's not something you can do yourself and it needs to go on diagnostics.

Try Halfords, I know hehe

I just bought one for my non start stop 2010 Cooper S. The MINI service guy I know quite well suggested Halfords as theirs are expensive, they can code it for you as well.

I bought mine from https://advancedbatterysupplies.co.uk and had a specialist fit and code it whilst it was in for other work.

Just replaced mine in our R55 Cooper D, two independents I spoke to both recommended fitting a genuine battery. So I took their advice, the battery also needs coding to the car, whole job was about 30mins labour so it’s not a cheap job.

MINI weren't too expensive when i asked, however, Halfords were doing a deal and I got it fitted for under £160.

Just make sure it's the right one for the car in terms of amps and cranking voltage, ideally you want genuine, Bosch or Varta for a battery.

Not all R56 minis use the same battery. As I said before you’re better to get a decent indie or main dealer to source the correct battery off the VIN number and fit it.

As it's a stop / start Mini you need an AGM and that has to be programmed to the car.

The coding to the car has already been mentioned

The Carly BMW diagnostic kit supports battery coding for Mini. You need to buy their OBD adaptor and their IOS/Android app. It's a very useful app not just for diagnostics but also for tweaking a wide range of ECU settings on all BMW derivatives (including Mini).
