I bought a 2005 Mini Cooper for my niece as her first car after passing her test.

However she had a shot of it at the weekend and now does not want the car as the clutch is too heavy for her frown

Before we dismiss the car completely (or alternatively disown my niece) is it possible to lighten the clutch especially due to it being a DMF.

I know replacing the clutch on a R50 is not a cheap excercise due to the labour involved but exploring options prior to going down an expensive rabbit hole for no reward (although that has maybe been done buying a car prior to her driving it).

Frequently with these cars an excessively heavy clutch is the first indicator of it being close to needing replacement.

simply go test drive another if you can - make a comparison.

Without knowing her perspective, generally I'd say the clutches are light (compared to other cars ive driven)
