2015 Mini One - heavy steering yellow warning light

The warning tells me to drive moderately slowly as steering is heavy and to take to dealer. Actually feels ok. When next started the warning has gone. Isn’t this a phantom warning which can be ignored? Is there an oil level to do with the power steering which can be topped up?

I had the same after the car was run while up on ramps. Reset itself once back on the ground.

A 2015 Mini One has an electric power steering rack. No fluid.

Sometimes low battery voltage can trigger warning like these, it might be a sign the battery is on its way out.

If it becomes more frequent and gets annoying, it would be worth scanning with a fault code reader to see what's triggering it to come on.

I had this on my Z4 (also EPAS) last year and a new battery fixed it.
